Dr. Kurz is a powerhouse in emergency medicine, currently serving as Professor and Chief of Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago. He is nationally recognized for transforming how we think about sudden cardiac arrest and post-arrest care, with over 150 peer-reviewed publications to his name.
Beyond academia, Dr. Kurz is shaping the future—he’s chairing the 2025 Advanced Life Support guidelines with the American Heart Association, driving national standards that will directly influence patient outcomes for years to come.

He heads Pediatric Emergency and Critical Care services at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, with expertise in pediatric shock, mechanical ventilation, ECMO, and critical care systems development across Indonesia.

Dr. Umul Khair Mohamad, MD, MMed (EM)
Consultant Emergency Physician
EMS specialist, Hospital Kuala Lumpur
With advanced training in Pre-Hospital Care and Disaster Medicine. She leads national initiatives in emergency medical response systems, ambulance coordination, and disaster preparedness, strengthening Malaysia’s prehospital and critical response capabilities.

Dr. Ahmad Suhailan Mohamed, MBBS, MMed, AHA, ATLS
Consultant Emergency Physician, Institut Jantung Negara, Malaysia
With a special interest in resuscitation and advanced life support, emergency airway management, point-of-care ultrasound, and initial trauma care. He spearheads an Excellence in Resuscitation programme in National Heart Institute, Malaysia, introducing the CPR Coach role and implementing it hospital-wide, in line with the American Heart Association’s latest ACLS focus.
